The youngest of the McCourt brothers, after Frank, Malachy and Michael, ALPHIE MCCOURT grew up in Limerick, Ireland and immigrated to the U.S. in 1959. He has lived in Canada, Dublin, Ireland, and in California and has spent a good part of his life in the restaurant and bar business. His pieces have appeared in The Washington Post, The Villager (New York), The Limerick Leader and in Icons Magazine.

Novelist, screenwriter and playwright THOMAS B. SAWYER was Head Writer/Showrunner of the hit series, Murder, She Wrote, for which he wrote 24 episodes. Tom has written 9 network TV pilots, 100 episodes, and has been Head Writer/Showrunner or Story Editor on 15 network TV series. He wrote, directed and produced the cult film comedy, Alice Goodbody, is co-librettist/lyricist of Jack, an opera about John F. Kennedy that has been performed to acclaim in the US and Europe. The best-selling mystery/thriller, The Sixteenth Man, was his first novel. Both his book, Fiction Writing Demystified, and Storybase are Writer's Digest Book Club Selections. He is publisher of Storybase 2.0 writer's software. He's taught writing at UCLA, at other colleges and universities, teaches at numerous major writers conferences, and online at Writers University where he currently teaches Storytelling. Tom has been nominated for an Edgar and an Emmy.

is a Los Angeles based progressive activist, musician and writer, known as much for her affiliation with Cindy Sheehan and her activism for the left as for her performances with Neil Young and other music heavyweights. THE PRICE OF RIGHT is her first book.

 



JONATHAN C. JAVITT, M.D., M.P.H., is a physician, epidemiologist, and health economist who has served as a senior health advisor and Presidential appointee in the last three Presidential administrations. Most recently, he was appointed by President Bush to chair the Health Subcommittee of the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee and to serve as a Presidential Delegate to the White House conference on Aging. He is a Senior Fellow of the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies and an Adjunct Professor of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Harvard, Cornell, and Princeton Universities and has authored more than 200 scientific publications.  He has participated in the founding of an array of successful biotechnology and information technology companies. Jonathan Javitt is a member of the Thriller Writer's Association. CAPITOL REFLECTIONS is his first book.

Next up was a senior strategic role with the NRG group, a high tech venture capital firm, where Gina worked in a fast-paced environment to help channel passion into entrepreneurial technology businesses. During this time, she simultaneously launched her first business, Goddess Concepts, a personal development company that focuses on helping women and girls reveal their inherent brilliance. RACHELINE MALTESE is one of the editors of Snapenews, an online Potter newsletter, and regularly attends conferences, including Phoenix Rising and Terminus, as a presenter. An expert in mythology and a practitioner of historical dance, fencing and costuming, Racheline is particularly interested in the wizarding culture created by J.K. Rowling and the intersection of that world with world mythology and real-world muggle history. She holds a degree in journalism from George Washington University and is a published writer of fiction, non-fiction and poetry, as well as an active writer of Harry Potter fan fiction. Her Potter articles have appeared on gather.com and Associated Content. She lives in New York.

 

BRIAN PERRY currently serves as Chandler Asset Management’s investment strategist.  In that role, Brian analyzes economic developments, conducts research on financial topics, and helps formulate investment strategy.  Brian was also instrumental in creating a new quantitative corporate credit analysis program and in developing the firm’s capital market forecasts and asset allocation models.  Brian authors the monthly Chandler Bond Market Review, has contributed numerous articles to investment industry publications, frequently appears on NBC News to discuss financial topics, and is a popular speaker at industry association events. Brian has worked as a fixed income trader for an investment bank, where he was responsible for trading government, corporate, and emerging market securities.  In addition to developing trading strategies for over 700 securities salespeople, Brian managed a proprietary trading book consisting of relative value and market directional positions. Brian has a BS Degree in Finance from Villanova University, an MBA in International Business from National University, and is pursuing an MA degree in International Affairs from Tufts University.
