From what Einstein called “the most powerful force in the universe,” compounding, to discussions of investor motivation and asset allocation, author and money manager Brian Perry has put together an easy-to-understand primer for those heretofore uninterested or just plain scared in investing and financial matters. His easy-to-follow guidebook is perfect for the student or young adult just starting out in the workplace, or those of any age who have been unable in the basic tenets of investing and wealth creation. Written with a contemporary and humorous voice, FROM PIGGY BANK TO PORTFOLIO deserves its place on every financial newbie's desk.
The book is geared towards novice investors, and ordinary individuals that know that they should begin saving and investing but have not yet done so. The book is also aimed towards individuals that are intimidated by other investment books or that know that they need to save and invest but are frightened of making a mistake. Finally, the book's emphasis on compound interest makes it appropriate for people that know that they should begin investing but think that you need a lot of money to do so. This book makes it clear that even small amounts are enough to begin with. For all these reasons, the ideal reader of the book is probable fairly young, perhaps in their 20s or 30s or early 40s, or perhaps even a student.
