Cassandra Toroian, investment expert and founder of Bell Rock Capital, wrote Don’t Buy the Bull to help average Americans get back on the right financial path after the recent financial collapse. Coming March 2010, Don't Buy the Bull addresses and corrects unfortunate investing and personal finance myths plaguing ordinary Americans. The book takes many accepted financial concepts, puts them under a microscope, and qualifies them in an effort to dispel investment advice that may in fact work against the investor. “The foundations of many economic and financial theories have been proven wrong in the last few years,” says Cassandra. “I wrote this book because I was tired of seeing everyday Americans losing their shirt, and sometimes their home, all because they were listening to old myths and the outdated or disproven advice of so-called ‘financial gurus.’”

To that end, below is a small sample of the investment and financial myths addressed and corrected in Don’t Buy the Bull:

~ The best thing to do is to stay invested, stay the course.
~ Always shop around for the highest yielding savings accounts.
~ Real estate is a great place to invest, but only if you do it without going into debt.
~ All debt is bad. Never borrow using an adjustable rate loan.
~ The $100 a month you give to your kids to let them enjoy childhood is not worth it – buy a life insurance policy instead.
~ Co-signing on a loan is OK to help someone out.

As a result of her efforts to help those less fortunate steered wrong by faulty investment advice, Cassandra was profiled in PEOPLE MAGAZINE as one of their HEROES IN HARD TIMES (above right) in 2009. It was that profile that initiated her book and forms the foundation for Don't Buy the Bull.
